On July 29, 1955 America announced its intention to launch a satellite into space for the first time. Four days later, the former Soviet Union said it would do the same and what is now known as the "Space Race" began. This charming 1966 Russian poster is a direct commentary on this Cold War era battle for the stars. The main text of this poster reads, "Boundless are the incantations of man!". The astronaut soars above the Zodiac, smiling inside his CCCP (Soviet Union) helmet. This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
