Marshmallow Pancake Syrup and Sauce Mix

Try this grown-up marshmallow syrup on S'mores chocolate and graham pancakes. Marshmallow syrup is a different kind of syrup, an "accidental syrup." We built it to go on our Smores Pancakes, but it didn't turn out as we had intended. Yes, it's a marshmallow flavor, but it's more "grown-up" than that.  It has a buttermilk syrup base; that is, it's a caramel syrup. It's like stirring marshmallows into warm caramel. It's what happens when you cook butter and sugar together. And when you take the acid out of buttermilk, you have a butterscotchy caramel flavor.
