Aloe barbadensis No home should be without an Aloe Vera plant. This thick, fleshy succulent provides a statement for any room, as well as healing properties for the skin. Like other desert plants, aloe enjoys lots of light – full sun to very bright, indirect light. Rotate periodically to ensure that all sides of the plant receive adequate light. Aloe prefers dry soil conditions, so allow to dry out completely between waterings and provide well-draining soil.
