It was created by Tiffany Studios under the artistic direction of Louis C. Tiffany. The piece is made of glass, cut and assembled with copper foil; cast and patinated bronze with blown glass and glass inlay. It measures 27 1/2 x 18 inches. N.86.GL.07a,b; N.86.P.15. Photo by David Schlegel. The peacock was a wildly popular design motif in the early 1900s, when this magnificent Peacock Library Lamp was made. While most Tiffany lampshades and bases could be mixed and matched, this lamp was designed as a single unit, entirely devoted to celebrating the bird’s iconic plumage. The expressive shade features a swirling rainbow of glass peacock feathers
