Fair Trade African Bolga Basket ~ Medium

These one-of-a-kind baskets come from the town of Bolgatanga in Ghana. Due to a variable climate, local women supplement the family income by weaving baskets using locally grown straw. Our supplier has been importing from Africa for 35 years and visits regularly to meet with the weavers. He strongly believes in the concept of Fair Trade and ensures that weavers are happy with their conditions and wages. He also donates a percentage of profits each year to provide healthcare, school supplies, and community buildings for weavers and their families.  Each basket is handwoven and completely unique.
