8/8 - Linocut (Block Printing)

Thursday, August 8, 20246-8 PM The Local Hand1912B Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA 02124 This is a beginner workshop that showcases how easily printmaking can be done at home. There will be demonstrations of various block printing techniques and tools, from wooden spoons to barens to a table-top Woodzilla press. Participants will trace and carve linoleum blocks, then print their creations.  Sample blocks will be provided as well. We will print out some inspiration designs and patterns for you to use as a jumping off point, or you can bring your very own design to carve and print.  This workshop provides an overview of all the skills and supplies needed to block print at home without fancy tools.
