Brass lanterns like this were originally used on cargo ships during the 1800’s. Later, reproductions were sold as souvenirs to commemorate particular fleets. This lantern is wired to illuminate an image of “Webb’s First Deep Field,” taken by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope in 2022. The top opens so you can peer down into the image as well. Looking underneath reveals an acid-washed, copper bottom. This up-cycled lantern is handmade and guaranteed to enlighten any space.
