The Calathea lancifolia, commonly know as the rattlesnake plant, is a great pet-safe plant that has long green leaves with striking dark markings and purple undersides, a signature feature of the calathea family. Care: Care Difficulty: A bit finicky. Light: Prefers medium to bright indirect light, avoid harsh direct sunlight. Water: Water when the top 1/2 - 1 inch of the soil is dry, mist regularly.
