Stainless steel probe body. Metric (straight) thread probes are normally used directly in a kettle wall such as the Boil Kettle, resulting in a weldless installation. Simply punch a hole in your kettle wall and attach using the included stainless steel nut and silicone washer. 2" long probe (measured from the back part of the threads to the probe tip). Our temperature probes use 3-wire RTD (resistive thermal device) Pt100 sensors instead of 2-wire K-type thermocouples (TC) as they offer greater accuracy over the brewing temperature range. RTDs also remain more accurate over time (less drift which means less re-calibration).
