Using, almost exclusively, live instruments Oscar Zulu achieves an entirely new sound and concept to add to his collection of sample packs. Square One Music Library Vol. 8 acts as a sort of concept album; starting with bright and innocent compositions and moving toward dark and chaotic. This project relies heavily on piano melodies, live synthesis, vocals, and unique effects and colors. Oscar employed several new techniques such as live guitar pedal modulation, cassette tape recordings, and chamber recordings with field recorders to achieve an array of new and interesting tones and textures.
