Selenite Tower 8"

Selenite is closely related to the other crystalline forms of Gypsum: Satin Spar, a compact fibrous variety that is generally translucent with a pearly chatoyant appearance; Desert Rose, most often bladed in the familiar shape of a rose with an outer druse of sand, or with sand throughout; and Gypsum Flower, an opaque variety usually attached to a matrix with spreading fibers forming a myriad of shapes, sometimes with severe curves and bends. While all have, at times, been grouped together and collectively called Selenite, the variety producing transparent, well-formed crystals remains the true Selenite.
