  Maitreya, in the Buddhist tradition is known as the future Buddha. According to Buddhist tradition, Maitreya is a boshisattava who is prophesied to appear on Earth, achieve complete enlightenmet and descend to earth when the teachings of Gautam Buddha has been completely decayed. As the 5th and final Buddha of our times, Maitreya's goal would be to reinstate the Dharma. Maitreya's arrival will signify the end of the middle time, the time between the fourth Buddha, Gautama Buddha, and the fifth Buddha, Maitreya, which is viewed as a low point of human existence.  -Maitreya Statue is signified with him calmly sitting on his Lotus asan.
