19th Century French Period Gold Gilt Louis XV or Rococo Canape Sofa or Settee

This is a high quality, elegant, period French Louis XV canape, settee or sofa, made in the mid-19th century and reupholstered in a quality silk brocade fabric. It has a beautifully shaped giltwood frame with a lovely flowing Rococo style, a serpentine front and cabriole legs, front and rear. All the frame has been ornately carved to a high standard. The gold gilt paint is aged and exquisite, with some of the red bole showing through.
