Following leading cartographer Thomas Jefferys' 1766 bankruptcy, he partnered with Faden to continue publishing maps. Faden's map shows the United States as they appeared towards the end of the eighteenth century, and also includes much of eastern Canada. Longitude measured according to the London meridian. A legend explains the use of colored outlines to indicate territorial boundaries; Faden explains various cartographic discrepancies and territorial disputes between European powers, and inserts an annotation regarding Indigenous territory.
