Compiled by Benjamin F. Hill and J.A. Udden for The University of Texas Mineral Survey under William B. Phillips' direction, it covers the area from Brewster County to Fort Hancock, focusing on geology along the Rio Grande. The map legend identifies 13 geological types, including quicksilver, coal, silver, lead, granite, and syenite. It incorporates USGS topographical data, showing features like topography, watersheds, railroads, and settlements. The map is oriented with north towards the top left corner and was drawn by C.P.
