Made to order in Minturn, Colorado Heather Sandal on our high heel, stained natural in your choice of Vegetable Tanned Leather. Pictured in Red.  Wood base with polyurethane sole.  Front Base 1", Heel 2 3/4".   Vegetable tanned leather refers to the tannage, or method of tanning the cowhide into leather. It's called “vegetable” because of the natural materials used in the tanning process like tree bark. Since vegetable tanning is a natural process, it's also eco-friendly. Due to the careful tanning process and the natural tannins, vegetable tanned leather develops a rich and beautiful patina, and actually gets better with time and use. This Leather feels a lot firmer then our other leathers but after it gets broken in it is very comfortable.
