Our Traditional Indian Chai tea uses black teas (Assam and Ceylon) as a base with cinnamon, ginger root, cardamom, variety of peppercorns, and cloves to give it a nice spicy kick. A very popular blend, the whole leaf black tea leaves are blended with warm spices to make this tea the perfect winter drink, even though lots of our customers drink Masala Chai iced all year long. The black tea base is a combination of Assam and Ceylon (named from the regions they are grown).  The tea leaves are grown and dried to remain whole.  As you steep the tea in hot water, you will be able to view the leaves opening back up to release the tea flavors.  The tea leaves come from plantations in Sri Lanka and India.
