Kalbi barbecue sauce or kalbi bulgogi sauce is a mildly sweet sauce based on soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, chili garlic sauce which is used either as a marinade to cook with or a sauce for basting or dipping. It can be used as a regular bbq sauce would be as well, on a hamburger or with onion rings, but its specialty is with grilled meat.    Kalbi or Galbi is a variety of grilled beef short ribs very popular in South Korea.
