Between the Cracks

Year: 2023 Medium Type: Mixed Media Material: Oil encaustic on Masonite Size: 54 × 36 × 12 in | 137.2 × 91.4 × 30.5 cm Classification: Unique Story: The rock formations and water sources of Colorado and New Mexico served as the starting points for these more abstracted pieces I painted while living there. Encustic thickness lends itself to geological form, while the shapeless, meandering color spectra flowing through cracks and surface rock represent water currents and coursing streams.
