DESCRIPTION Archival ink on museum-quality cotton rag paper | 2021 In the series “Three Corners….” James Needham photographs three corners in unknown destinations. Each image is a play on the question “What’s around the corner?”, which in recent times has forecast a sense of dread. Needham reclaims this question, bringing a sense of positivity and adventure. Needham sought further inspiration from Richard Linklater’s films Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and Before Midnight. In each film, the characters are consistent but the elements around them change. Needham’s photographs take a similar approach, as the main subject remains but the time of day, light, and colors change.
