Pandanus Pod

If you have frogs and other herps, these are seriously cool pods to play with in your vivarium or terrarium, where they can help create hiding spaces, territories, and even "terraces" or simply "forest floor scatter." Actually the dried fruit of the Pandanus tree, or "Thatch Screwpine" (Pandanus tectorius), they're commonly found in coastal mangrove habitats! They're quite attractive and long lasting. However, they're a bit too difficult to sink for aquatic use, in our experience.  They range from about 1.5"- 2.5" (3.81-6.35cm) in length.  PREPARATION: We've tried to get these pods to sink, but even after 1.5 hours of boiling, ours were as buoyant as before.
