Domaine Saint Damien Plan de Dieu 'Vieilles Vignes'

Domaine St. Damien’s cuvees of Gigondas have become the reference for classic full-bodied yet fine Gigondas, with scores by all journalists being both consistent and high every vintage. Almost as popular as their high-scoring Giogondas cuvees, are their Cotes-du-Rhone bottlings, for their intense concentration and tremendous value. The 2020 Plan de Dieu Vieilles Vignes comes from vineyards just to the west of Gigondas, and the blend here is 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre. Rich, opulent, and pleausre-bent, this offers up soaring notes of kirsch, dark raspberry, white pepper, and Provencal herbs. Full-bodied, silky, and wonderfully balanced, this is one of the best Cotes du Rhones out there.
