"The Harvest Collection 1" Canvas Painting, Original Art, Giclee Print Hand Painted/ Embellished with Acrylics, oil, unstretched canvas The Canvas will actually be 15 x 27 and the image will be 12 x24 I would like to talk a little about this collection of artwork. When I first came out with “The Harvest Collection”, I received a lot of mix reactions. Some people loved these art pieces and some didn’t. Some saw slavery or hardship. Some saw it as ownership, history, and pride. Still others asked, who wants to relive that? I understood both perspectives. As a child of parents who were born, raised, and lived in the South, both of my Grandparents owned land, farmed the land, and they were NOT slaves. My parents still own that land to this day. I understand, if you grow up in the intercity and every time you see African Americans farming land (mostly in movies and TV), then they were depicted as slaves. So you grow up thinking that African Americans farming on land is bad. I get it. But
