  The task of designing the new Planar 3 to replace the award-winning RP3 was quite challenging. In order to improve ergonomics, usability, and sonic quality, Rega's Roy Gandy and his team spent two years on the project. They decided to keep only two components from the previous model and focused on creating a lightweight, double-braced, acrylic-laminated plinth to minimize energy absorption and resonance.
