“Cocks Comb” Marcasite w/ Drusy Quartz  Magmont Mine, Bixby, Iron County, Missouri, USA Ex. Brett Whitenack Collection 7.3 x 6.6 x 4.2 cm A fantastic example of the iron sulfide mineral marcasite displaying the classic “cocks comb” twinned crystal habit. The crystals appear similar to a rooster’s head crest, hence the name. This particular piece is in excellent condition and is associated with lustrous drusy quartz.  This specimen was a recent acquisition (May 24’) out of the collection of Brett Whitenack. Brett was an active collector for 40+ years who resided in McPherson, Kansas.
