Dinner plates with the Shannondale pattern have an intricate landscape scene and cabbage rose accents painted in striking red and white transferware. The legacy of the Ridgway family spanned over two centuries, with a multitude of relatives dominating the Staffordshire pottery industry. In its peak during the mid-19th century, various branches of this influential dynasty ran several different prestigious Potteries that all specialized in earthenware products boasting superior quality and craftsmanship. Notably, they also produced stoneware and bone china wares to equally impressive standards. Transferware made before 1920 usually has 'England' printed on the back. After 1920 the mark is 'Made In England'
