18 x 18" acrylic on stretched canvas. This is square abstract painting with colors including blue, teal, soft purple. It has a matte appearance accentuated by the saturated colors and layers of transparent paint. Small variations in both hue and shade give the impression of light emerging from the painting itself. The paint application is expressive and tactile, sometimes appearing to melt into the canvas and other times coming forward in bold, thick strokes. This painting is ready to hang. The back has been wired, and the edges are painted, so no frame is necessary.
