
MidCentury Ivory Leather Console Table on Brass Legs Attributed to Mastercraft
A lovely Mastercraft console table. This table features a substantial brass base that is Chinoiserie in style. There a cream colored leather wrapped (or faux leather) top that has a thin line of brass inset all around the top of the table. This table does not have a Mastercraft label, instead it was made for and marketed by a high-end Chicago area furniture company - Richard Honquist (so it has a Honquist label on the underside of the table). Compared to that other furniture-makers of their time, Mastercraft's works seemed positively flamboyant. The company was founded in 1947 by brothers Charles and William Doezema.
