Have you ever wanted to make a quilt but don't know where to start? Do you love sewing straight lines but ran out of interesting project ideas? In this workshop, we will dive into the world of quilting with a fresh perspective and help you find new inspiration to use your fabric stash or remnants! You will walk away with inspiration and a newfound confidence to keep going! The goal is to learn about quilting, basic techniques and make your own quilt block (at least 1). Topics covered in this workshop are as follows: Part 1 (lecture style): Key components of a quilt Common quilting fabrics Solids vs. patterns What's a Jelly Roll? Fat Quarter? Major quilting design styles Must-have tools for quilting Design your own Block Part 2 (hands-on sewing): Common block styles and how they're made How to cut on a bias (aka sew triangles) Sew a quilting Block Please bring some fabric that you'd like to cut and experiment with.
