Kiln Use and Glaze Pricing

Glazing & General Use Glazing is included for up to six pieces made in 8-Week Classes. The kiln is available for bisque and glaze firing. Only commercially manufactured clay is allowed—no self-made clay. Clay body must be identified before firing. A photo of the box is sufficient. Bisque Firing Clay purchased from Fort Wayne Clay includes bisque firing in the price. Clay purchased elsewhere: $0.50 per pound (weigh before placing on the bisque shelf). Pieces must be completely dry before firing. Wet pieces may be delayed by a week to prevent breakage. Drop-off process: Place pieces on shelves in the kiln room (not in boxes). If bringing pieces in a box, unload them onto the shelf—boxes should not remain in the kiln room. Place an empty box with your name, contact info, and maker’s mark facing out on the hallway shelf. Fired pieces will be placed here for pickup. No notifications will be sent when pieces are finished. Expect a two-week turnaround. Payment is required be
