Tradescantia 'Bold Blue' Plants
Tradescantia 'Bold Blue, is a hardy herbaceous perennial we selected from a large number of tradescantia andersonia seedlings. This particular type is stocky, has a long blooming season, is non-invasive and never flops. The mid-blue blooms are perched delightfully above the glaucous foliage. The flowers are self-cleaning and borne plentifully over a long blooming season. A long-lived perennial that is drought tolerant once established. Mature Plant Size: 24" Tall, 18" Spread Bloom Time: May- September Light Exposure: Full Sun, Partial Shade Soil Type/pH: Well-drained/6.0-7.0 Hardiness Zones: 5-9 Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring. If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all-purpose formula in early spring annually.
