O'Connors Strawberry Clover
Strawberry Clover is a perennial, low growing plant that resembles White Clover. It is native to the Mediterranean region and is grown throughout the world. O’Connors is an improved cultivar of Strawberry Clover that was developed in Australia. It is noted for its ability to establish on wet saline and alkaline soils and is more hardy and tolerant of harsh environmental conditions (such as flooding) than white clover. Being a legume, strawberry clover is able to take nitrogen from the air and fix it in the soil through action of bacteria on their roots. It produces pink flowers from May to November and develops prostrate stems that root freely. It will grow in a wide range of climates but is particularly suited to the western and upper plains states of the U.S. Grows 12 inches high.
