Don’t let its name fool you; though native to California’s deserts, the Desert Bluebell (aka California Bluebell) Phacelia campanularia -  is well adapted to many other areas.  Offers inch-long bell-shaped flowers in a deep-blue shade and deep green, heart-shaped foliage.  A lush addition to the front of the sunny spring border.  Drought tolerant, it is also at home in rock gardens.  Popular in wildflower mixtures.
