MASSIVE 16" Strange and UNIQUE Hampton Butte Petrified Wood & Agate Cast Slab

This is one of the most unique petrified wood formations I've come across in quite some time! It's one of the most unusual Hampton Butte logs we've ever seen in fact, and considering the variety that this site is famous for, that's really saying something! This is a cross section from a very large and complete fossil wood and agate cast combination that formed in Oregon's famous Hampton Butte petrified forest. There are telltale remnants of the original wood structure throughout the face and the larger, organized pores suggest hardwood to me but as is often the case with these casts, the structure is just obscure enough to keep you from seeing enough to be certain what species it is. It's actually very well silicified by Hampton standards and took a very nice polish. This
