Rosie Red/Yellow 26X26

This piece is a smaller, more refined version of my larger "Rosie" mosaic, which I’ve never fully realized in this way before. Traditionally, Rosie has been composed of icons and intricate details, but for this version, I aimed to capture her essence solely through thread.The backgrounds are crafted from up-cycled luxury packaging and bags, carefully deconstructed, embroidered, and quilted together before being mounted on a sturdy backboard. Rosie herself is portrayed through various stitching techniques—some versions utilize rayon thread for a vibrant, eye-catching effect, while others employ wool thread for a softer, more vintage appeal.Each unique piece contains over 200,000 meticulously placed stitches, making every one a one-of-a-kind work of art. The original Rosie mosaic has previously traveled across the country, showcased in the Americana Show and the "Crafting Democracy" exhibition, highlighting her cultural significance and artistic versatility.
