It was among the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, nearly as large as or even larger than Tyrannosaurus. It had a narrow skull, similar in shape to a crocodile’s, but about 5-6 ft long. This tooth likely chewed up plenty of smaller animals and fish. The name refers to the dinosaur’s large spinal sail, the purpose of which remains unclear.
