A Bamboo Tabbed Accounting Book: Daifukucho

early twentieth century14" x 5 1/4" x 1/2", 35.5 cm x 13.25 cm x 1.5 cm This is a very nice, old daifukucho, a hand bound, hand written book which could have originally been used for inventories, for accounting, for ledgers or as a record of inventory. This daifukucho is slender and contains a set of thin, bamboo tabs affixed to some of the pages. The front cover is written on with hand writing done in sumi or charcoal-based ink.  There are good number of blank pages in this book, but many of the scrawled-up on ones are better than most. A good-looking example of a traditional daifukucho, with its original, intact cording.
