1904 ALEXANDER MACLAREN. Fine 1p. Framing Autograph Letter by Scottish Baptist.

A very nice single page letter by the Scottish Expositor of the age, influential Baptist, Alexander Maclaren [1826-1910]. He here writes to W. Robertson Nicoll, editor of The Expositor magazine regarding his series on Colossians. Nicoll did indeed want them and they were issued in the Expositor as a series, and later as part of Nicoll's classic The Expositor's Bible. Signed, as usual, Alex. McLaren.  In full: "Manchester, 14 Oct 04 Dear Mr. Nicoll I send by this post the M.S. of 3 papers on Colossians. Please to look at them with the view of deciding on their suitableness for Expositor.
