A very unusual work on the market, especially the 1655 edition which adds a further fourth part comprising nearly 300 additional pages, by early Puritan, Richard Capel [1586-1656]. A member of the Westminster Assembly, he was a deeply experiential divine called by Richard Sibbes, "faithful, scholarly, and a dear friend" to the godly.  The present work on temptation pre-dates John Owen's classic treatise.
