Droplet Shallow Urn

  4” tall x 6” Diameter A hand-built jar made with speckled stoneware clay. Unglazed exterior, glazed interior. The decoration is hand-painted matte underglaze, white glaze and 22k gold luster.     About the Artist: Helen Prior’s ceramics and textiles are deeply rooted in the natural world.  These unique creations are a cross-pollination of the leaves and wildflowers of the Hudson Valley combined with stylized flowers and patterns from Helen’s historical textile archive. Her hand-crafted designs are achieved by cutting fine lines and pressing found objects into the rolled-out clay, creating striking super-plants and intricate patterns that are both modern and beautiful. All clay pieces are created in her studio in Kingston New York.
