Endless Knot/Eternal Knot (shrivatsa) cross stitch PDF pattern (2 versions)

The endless knot (or eternity knot) appears on engravings from the Indus Valley Civilization dating back to 2500 BCE. It's a 7(4) knot configuration, meaning there are 7 crossings and a braid width of 4. The knot (or other configurations of equivalent knots) appears in symbolism of Buddhist sects from India to China to Japan, as well as in Celtic imagery and Jainist symbolism. The knot symbolizes cycles, the cyclic nature of life and existence, the intertiwining of wisdom and compassion, duality, and balance.  My sample stitch (the red one) is done on 32ct (over 2) opal hand-dyed linen and displayed in a 5" embroidery hoop. This pattern does also have one unusual conceit, which is that once it's completed, it is displayed in the hoop or frame with the fabric rotated 45 degrees off of the vertical.
