Château Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan
No Bordeaux collection is complete without Pape Clément! Savvy collectors lay cases down for a minimum of 10-years before enjoying. The Château has been on a mega-trajectory ever since wine magnate, Bernard Magrez purchased the estate back in 1980. A Robert Parker darling property with a tremendous track record of high-scoring releases that started with the 2000 vintage and still racking up the press with present vintages. Never too far in quality from the prestigious First-Growth Château Haut-Brion, Pape Clément stays with the best of them, including the Top-Growths further north on the Left-Bank. The wine consistently displays how power and elegance can coexist in the glass. In certain vintages, there’s a higher percentage of Merlot to Cabernet Sauvignon, but the 2015 has is tilted more to Cabernet Sauvignon with 40% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc.
