2019 Melini 'La Selvanella' Chianti Classico Riserva

Melini's debut of 'La Selvanella' in 1969 marked the first time a Chianti Classico wine had been bottled by a single vineyard and labeled as such, quite remarkable for a region that has been noted for it's winemaking for seven centuries! The wine certainly came from a trustworthy source as Melini has been historically producing wines since 1705. 'La Selvanella' represents the winery's Riserva bottling of Chianti Classico from all estate-grown grapes in the Radda commune, one of the region's most historic areas for viticulture. Muscular with a silky quality afforded by extended aging in French oak to balance out Sangiovese's signature angular acidity, 'La Selvanella' presents a great balance for all lovers of Chianti Classico.
