Everytime a customer asks me for pizza wine, I usually reply with light and bright Barbera. That can get kind of boring. Like many foreign indigineous grapes, Grignolino hasn’t made waves in the U.S. A little lighter than the average Barbera but with all the tannic structure of proper food wine.
