Saint Luke the Evangelist oval medal. The front of the medal depicts St Luke holding a gridiron and a palm frond and wearing a dalmatic. The reverse side is marked "Pray For Us". This detailed die-cast medal is made in the region of Italy that produces the finest quality medals in the world.  St Luke is one of the Four Evangelists - the four traditionally ascribed authors of the canonical Gospels. The Early Church Fathers ascribed to him the authorship of both the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, which would mean Luke contributed over a quarter of the text of the New Testament, more than any other author. He is the PATRON saint of artists, bachelors, butchers, doctors, glass industry workers, goldsmiths, lacemakers, notaries, painters, physicians, sculptors, students, and surgeons.
