Straight Backed, Fuzzy Pile Weatherstripping Straight backed glass sliding patio door and window weatherstripping is the standard type of weather stripping that normally comes in new sliding doors and windows. BACKING = .187 (4.75 MM or 3/16") PILE (fuzzy stuff) = .200 (5.08 MM or a little bigger than 3/16") Charcoal gray in color. Backing is cut straight, NOT zippered. Simple and easy to install. Simply cut old weather stripping down the middle with a razor or utility knife. Pull out old weather stripping. Slide the new weather strip in the "T" channel. If new weather stripping is hard to slide in, you may be able to place it over the "T" channel and push it in with a thin, dull object, like a butter knife or putty knife.
