Taken by the James Webb Space Telescope, the image shows over 50 young stars, many of which are surrounded by the shadows of protoplanetary disks indicating future planetary formation. It's a close-up look at one of the nearest star-forming regions to Earth.The image was captured in infrared wavelengths that penetrate deep into cold molecular clouds and highlight the heat of young stars.
