Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex
Rho Ophiuchi Cloud ComplexDark Nebula This print offers a unique view of the universe, displaying a star-forming region within the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex. Taken by the James Webb Space Telescope, the image shows over 50 young stars, many of which are surrounded by the shadows of protoplanetary disks indicating future planetary formation. It's a close-up look at one of the nearest star-forming regions to Earth. The image was captured in infrared wavelengths that penetrate deep into cold molecular clouds and highlight the heat of young stars. This method provides a more in-depth perspective of the star-forming region than optical wavelengths can offer. Publisher's Note: This is a square format image. Also, this image is extremely high resolution and produces tack-sharp prints at virtually any size.
