2025 Volkl Rise Beyond 96 Ski
The Volkl Rise Beyond 96 Skis is a lightweight touring ski with some serious downhill chops. At 96- millimeters underfoot, this is the waist width that we consider to be a sweet spot width for a touring ski as it is wide enough to handle deep snow, while staying light enough to maintain efficiency on the ascent. Volkl uses their Tourlite Hybrid wood core in construction of the ski which is comprised of Beech underneath the binding, as well as a mix of Poplar and Paulownia in the outer portions of the ski. This allows the ski to be as light as possible while still providing a solid and stable downhill performance. Other features in the design of this ski include a combination of camber and rocker as well as a bit of early taper in the tip and tail. Both of these design attributes work in tandem to provide desirable soft snow performance by way of float and maneuverability. Advanced to expert skiers looking for a touring ski that provides both uphill efficiency and solid downhill perfor
