Prefixes Lesson Plan

This Prefixes Teach-Its unit includes a rigorous, fun, and engaging lesson to help you teach this skill to your students. This unit includes: ☞ Two Scripted Standards-Based Lesson Plan that includes Learning Targets, Materials, Standards, and a scripted lesson plan to help you effectively teach about what Prefixes are and how Prefixes are used. ☞ a Whole Group Active Engagement Activity to engage and excite your students to help them learn about adjectives. You will read the story If You Were a Prefix by Marci Aboff or Pre- and Re- and Mis- and Dis- by Brian Cleary (books not included) or any other book you have about prefixes. Ask your students to explain what a prefix and write on sentence strip or chart paper. ☞ a Guided Practice Activity where the students will work together now that they are familiar with Prefixes. The will play a game where they are going to get part of a pizza cutter and they have to find the other part that makes sense.
