Recommended for targeted testing of ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (EGBE) in drinking water. EGBE (also called 2-Butoxyethanol) is a colorless liquid with a mild odor that is used as a solvent in resins, varnishes and lacquers. It is also used as an ingredient in paint thinners, herbicides, household products and cosmetics. At high concentrations, EGBE can irritate the eyes and skin and cause headaches and vomiting. Animal studies have shown adverse impacts on blood. This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of EGBE.
